It’s a great thing the notoriously minimal German humorous character does not interpret to its top-end accommodation. The 5-star hotels in Berlin are among the best and most fairly priced anywhere in the world.

Low on chortles

In fact this brings to me a fascinating point about 5-star hotels in Berlin, or any other hotel actually. To me, this is disappointing. Why else would they ask me to enjoy my stay here at the uniquely decorated Palace hotel in Berlin? Yet I fork out hundreds of extra dollars for an enticing, ornamented, wonderful, and opulent room, as well as free use of the thermal baths, sauna, and solarium, but have a thoroughly dour time!

Not even at the best of the 5-star hotels in Berlin, the Adlon Kempinski, can I get a giggle out of any one except for the janitors. I suppose it has something to do with the hotel’s really significant, aristocratic history. I could employ a heavy iron pinch bar, but even that in the hand of a 200-pound pro-wrestler would barely be sufficient to bend the corners of the staff’s mouth into a little upward half-smirk. What do I have to do to get a giggle around here?

‘Your ad boasted of intimacy.

You are after… What was that again? A good laugh? I am going to have to check with management, ja?’

Yes, even at the Schlosshotel im Grunewald, one of the swankiest 5-star hotels in Berlin, a giggle is as hard to find as plutonium.

That is’s okay. Of course , who would mind having to give up snickers in return for up-to-the-minute comforts and 24 hour pampering? The 5-star hotels in Berlin provide those. In fact, not only will 5-star hotels in Berlin make you feel like royalty, they will let you experience Germany’s culture first hand, too! One of the 5-star hotels in Berlin, the Swisshotel Berlin, even provides guests with the opportunity of viewing the first artworks of Markus Lupertz. His paintings embellish the walls of each of the hotel’s room. Not just that, you get to eat like royalty too! The Swisshotel Berlin boasts of a menu designed by Anton Mosimann, the official chef of Britain’s Royal Family.

Another good point about the 5-star hotels in Berlin is that they are very fair. As an example, you can get a room in any of the 5-star hotels in Berlin, like the four Seasons Berlin which is right in the middle of the city, for as low as fifty six EU Bucks a night! That is’s less expensive than paying rent! If you have cash to burn, the Kempinski Hotel in Bristol places you smack-dab in the money-burning district of Berlin, the Kurfurstendamm.

If you are after indulgence , however , 5-star hotels in Berlin are the places to go to.

For Americans planning to travel abroad it’s worthwhile to have contact information for the local embassy or consulate. The American Embassy can be a lifesaving resource for Americans traveling abroad. For a US citizen the local embassy is a wealth of information and resources. They can notify you in the event of an emergency, provide you with medical resources such as physicians, air ambulance companies and hospitals, or help you if you have been the victim of a crime.

If you’ve ever seen the television show, “24” or any of the “Bourne Identity” movies you may believe that the embassy is a place of non-stop political action and adventure. The reality is far less heart stopping but they can be a useful resource for an American traveling in a foreign country.

Before you travel you can register with the Embassy in the country where you will be traveling at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/home.asp. This will ensure your safety in the event of an emergency as officials will know where to contact you.

When disasters happen abroad, American consular officers can assist you in evacuating the country, if they know where to locate you. When you register you will provide them with a detailed itinerary and passport information for all in your party. If you are traveling with a tour group, they will likely register the tour group but do ask.

Registering with the embassy is especially important if you plan on an extended stay or if you are traveling to countries subject to natural disasters, civil unrest or political instability. You can also contact the embassy in advance to check on conditions in the country.

The embassy will not serve as a personal concierge but in an emergency, they can assist you with much needed help. For example, if you were injured or became ill while traveling they could provide you or your family with the information for an air ambulance service. The air ambulance company could then coordinate with the local hospital and safely transport you to a hospital in your home location.

The embassy can help not only in medical emergencies but also personal emergencies. If your passport was lost or stolen while traveling the embassy could help you to secure replacement documentation.

Many people travel abroad without incident. However, it pays to plan in advance by having a list of emergency resources just in case. This can be particularly important for medical emergencies. Make sure that you have an emergency list of contacts that includes your local physician, pharmacy (if taking prescribed medication), insurance company, medical evacuation company (they will have a 24 hour line accessible worldwide), hospital and of course the local U.S. Embassy.

The Process of renting a car:

Car rental

Car hire

* Remember, when you get to a car hire company, they will try to charge for anything possible. It’s their business.

* One thing that most of the people don’t realize is that the agent behind the counter has the power to give you free upgrades! So, be nice!

* DO NOT sign before reading the contract. Working in one of the biggest car rent Romania

* Always ask for a “complementary” upgrade. If you are nice and they have plenty of extra vehicles for that day, they will give you a free upgrade or maybe for a little charge.

* Make certain that you understand the rental terms and coverages. Rental car insurance is often called different things in different companies.

* Some companies charge for extra driver, ask about it if you have a second driver.

* Again, sign the rentacar contract after you read the whole and understand the charges. Also ask for an estimated total because they will never give you an exact total.

* When you get to your car check “everything” inside and outside; Check the car key and remote for broken ones, go around the car to make sure there is no scratches. If you find any problems, dents, or scratches make sure an employee or manager notes it down on your contract and initials it.

* Make sure the gas tank is full if it was suppose to be full.

A book and map are reliable sources that one should carry while travelling or exploring places. The Europe Travel Guide book reflects lot of information about regions and localities. Relying on this source is rewarding and beneficial. It reveals the best time and season to visit a place in Europe. With picture galleries and simple verse it helps travellers to acquire knowledge about the holiday destinations and its specialities. The routes and communication mediums of reaching places, birds and animals sight seeing, shopping centres, hotels and resorts, are all mentioned in a well informed book. Informative books also provide information about the lifestyles, food habits, culture and dialects of the region.

Having a map is like watching a place from bird’s view. It is a gist of well-known cities and tourist destinations, main streets, terminals etc. and with it you can easily locate places. Furthermore, maps are more convenient to carry with in comparison to any other source of information. It is also worthy to carry a compass so that you do not get lost and navigate location easily.

As you are new and unfamiliar to a region, the routes and passageways might be confusing. To avoid this awkwardness, you can hire an experienced guide and enjoy the places. The guide steers the tourist with information of places, its heritage, culture, monuments, economical hotels and places where you can get tasty European food. You should be selective in hiring the services of a well trained guide as many might charge you more than any normal cost.

Do carry a guide book, phone numbers or map with you, so that if unfortunately you get lost, you can call someone for help. Online is also a strong tool that will enrich you with information in less time. In comparison to any guide books, online helps to collect more information within less time. Many reputed hotels and resorts launch their own websites revealing information and charges.

So, guide books are like trustworthy friends assist you in enjoying places.

Planning a summer holiday this year?  Then take a closer look at the small island of Lanzarote.  Which is located in the Canaries – off the coast of Africa.  And which has long been a hot favourite with tourists from the UK and Eire.

Lanzarote is one of the seven main islands that form the Canarian archipelago – the best known of which is Tenerife.  And is a Spanish possession and part of the EU despite its location close to the Tropic of Cancer.

Lanzarote is probably best known for its volcanoes – as the island is home to close to 300 now dormant peaks.  Which were created by one of the modern worlds biggest ever eruptions in the 1730’s, which lasted for six years and which caused widespread devastation.  Today however – rather ironically – this region is the most popular attraction on the island and is known locally as the Montañas del Fuego – or Fire Mountains.

Away from the volcanic interior Lanzarote is home to three main holiday resorts.  This is where the bulk of tourist accommodation is located – with hundreds of apartments, hotels and villas in Lanzarote available for visitors to choose from.

The advent of the internet means that today many tourists now book their own accommodation and flights to Lanzarote direct online.  With fares starting at around €100 return from the UK and with a journey time of four hours from all major airports.

All arrivals touch down at Arrecife airport (flight code ACE), which is the only terminal on the island.  The airport here is handily located for the islands main resort of Puerto del Carmen – which is just a ten minute drive away.  Whilst the other main resorts of Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca are twenty and thirty minutes away respectively.

Playa Blanca is the fastest growing resort on the island – thanks largely to the fact that it boasts the best climate and weather.  A point that is especially salient for winter sun seekers.  Along with some of the best beaches on Lanzarote.  There´s also an abundance of hotels and villas in Playa Blanca for tourists keen to stay at the southern foot of the island.

Playa Blanca is also the gateway to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.  So tourists can hop across on one of the ferries that run throughout the day from the harbour and take in not just one but two Canary Islands.

We can talk all night about any given topic. Debate, discuss, and lay down the facts, but nothing beats experiencing the live thing. Nothing tops really letting the senses feel everything, or to hear, touch, smell, taste, and to see the real deal.

The axiom, “To see is to believe,” is what we get when go to museums or car shows to watch and be awed by sports, exotic, luxury or classic cars that are all in display. But with Las Vegas car rentals, the right thing to say is, “To sense is to believe.” The real experience and the awakening of the senses is the promise that Las Vegas car rentals bring you.

An even more appreciated point is the fact that with Vegas car rentals, we can still drive one of the leading luxury cars of the past that has now gone defunct. These luxury car models are not for sale anymore. But in Vegas, we are given the option to “rent” the experience and understand the reason why it was one of the leading luxury cars back then. Take the 1937 Packard 120 Convertible Sedan, for example the.

The 1937 Packard 120 convertible sedan was a car manufactured by the now defunct Packard automobile company. Packard automobile was founded by brothers James and William Packard, along with George Lewis Weiss in Ohio. James, a mechanical engineer, believed that they could build better horseless carriage than the Winton cars owned by Weiss. He had ideas for improvement on the design of current automobiles and by 1899 they were manufacturing vehicles. The company which they called the Ohio Automobile Company introduced a number of innovations such as a modern steering wheel and years later the 12-cylinder engine.

While other cars of that time like the Cole 30 & Colt Runabout were priced at US$ 1,500, the Oldsmobile runabout at US$ 650, the Western’s Gale Model A roadster was US$500 and the Black was US$375.The Packards were priced at US$ 2,600. Still, they had a following among the wealthy purchasers here in the United States and abroad.

While other car companies like Franklin, Marmon, Ruxton, Stutz, Stearns-Knight, Dusenberg and Peirce-Arrow crashed during the Great Depression, Packard survived by producing more affordable cars in the medium-price range. In 1935 the Packard 120 convertible Sedan came out. It was Packard’s first under-US$ 1,000 car.

The Packard 120 was produced from 1935-1937 and again on 1939-1941. It had numerous body styles that included convertibles, coupes and two-and four door configurations. The 1937 model had a “C” and “CD” trim levels. It had a wood-bodied station wagon, a touring sedan and a limousine body style. This model was equipped with a 282 cubic-inch motor with a 120 horsepower, dual side mounts and a heater.

It was after the second World War that Packard began to show signs of its end. It was at this time that Packard suffered a shortage of raw materials needed to manufacture automobiles. In 1959, the Packard nameplate was pulled out from the market. In 1995, there were plans for reviving the brand but the project was later abandoned and the world realized that 1959 was the last for the Packards to ever grace a showroom.

The 1937 Packard 120 Convertible Sedan remains to be one of the luxurious cars of history. And the thrill of riding it can still be experienced through renting it at one of the classic car rentals that Las Vegas offers. Don’t limit yourself. To see is to believe is not enough. Go for the full ride, experience to believe.

For most travelers Republic of Indonesia is mainly associated with Bali island. However, the country has a lot to offer for those who are eager to take a rest far from trendy resorts and beach exotics. Those who love everything out of ordinary can choose an extreme tour.

Travel managers say that the number of tourists who choose adventurous trips is getting bigger and bigger. Indonesia is probably one of the best places to spend your time this way. The country includes: Greater Sunda Islands (Kalimantan, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java and Madura), Lesser Sunda Islands, Maluku islands and the western part of the New Guinea island, formerly known as Irian Jaya. This is the real expanse for extreme travelers.

The most typical pastime is a trip to Java and Bali islands. This is in fact not an extreme tour, and it suits simple tourists who love active rest. Having arrived at Jakarta, travelers change their means of transport to Jeeps and ride along the Java island, admiring volcanoes, national parks, active geysers and wild animals. I trip like this usually includes a tour around huge internationally renowned temples, like Buddhist Borobudur and Hindu Prambanan. In Borobudur you can observe 1500 VIII-X century bas-reliefs and sculptures whereas Prambanan offers stunningly graceful and realistic sculptures that portray gods. After a week of walks along rural roads tourists find themselves on Bali. At day, the best pastime is sunbathing and swimming whereas at night you can spent your time clubbing and partying. Such 15-day tour costs no less than $1500.

Those who value real adventures are offered other kinds of trips. For instance, you can pay $2,5-5 thousand and spent your time on Irian Jaya island living among cannibals (better not to spend too much time here) – an ancient nationality which managed to preserve its world-known traditions. Tourists live in real Papuan villages, raft along tropical rivers, participate in magical rituals and wild hunting using primitive tools. You will also get your doze of adrenalin when participating in tours called “Visiting head hunters”. This is a trip to Kalimantan island, during which you will travel on Jeeps, boats and by foot along the primeval jungles surrounded with rhinoceroses, giant butterflies, orang-utans and bears. Travelers spend two weeks on getting acquainted with customs and tempers of local wild tribes, familiarizing themselves with a fabulous sultan’s palace in Tenggarong, dancing at Tanamur – the country’s most famous disco and doing shopping at local floating market.

Another kind of extreme tour is a trip to Sumatra island, where you can enjoy Krakatoa volcano, which erupted in 1883 – this was one of the largest cataclysms in history of human being. Travelers will also float along the Palembong canals – the Venice of the South-Eastern Asia, visit Bukittinggi, the capital of Minangkabau ethnic group. Some scientists say that it is in this city that descendants of Macedonian warriors and Amazons live. The journey is accomplished with a tour around the jungles.
